Top 5 Favourite Movies At The Moment

Hello there guys and welcome back! Today's post will be slightly different, as I will be talking about my top 5 favourite movies right now. I'm trying to diversify my posts a little bit, so here's something more personal.

Movies are there to entertain us, whether it be making us laugh, scaring us out of our seats or non-stop action that keeps our adrenaline going. It is something that has evolved throughout the millennia and has enabled us to take entertainment to a whole new level. Movies used to be a bunch of silent black and white movies, mostly comedic. Nowadays we're seeing blockbuster franchises like James Bond, The Marvel Superhero Movies, Mission Impossible and the list goes on. As much as I adore watching movies, there are some that has caught my eye and made my top 5 list, so here it is:

5: Speed Racer
This 2008 racing movie is based off a Japanese animated show about automobile racing in the future, where cars are rigged with a bunch of tricks and traps to be dominant over everyone else. It's about a teenager called Speed Racer, who aspires to compete in the international racing circuit with the help of his trusty high-tech-race-car, The Mach 5. I'm not going to spoil anything, but I have seen this movie hundreds of times and can't get enough of it. The story is well written and the action is just mind-blowing, it keeps you to the edge of your seat as you experience a futuristic race filled with explosions and carnage. I recommend this movie to everyone, I assure you guys won't be disappointed!

4: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
The epic finale to the magical series adored by millions, this by far is my favourite Harry Potter film, simply because it's the one with the most action, emotions and nostalgia. At the time when the movie came out, I have never experienced so much emotion going through me, as watching the movie made me think of how far this series has come, and what a fitting way to end it. This movie follows Harry and his trusted alliance to take down Voldemort, the dark wizard that has been tormenting Harry for most of his life. Definitely a recommended film to everyone!

3: Mission Impossible Rogue Nation
The fifth instalment of the Mission Impossible franchise, I actually watched this film last month and I have got to say, Tom Cruise isn't afraid to do death defying stunts. All the stunts performed were real and this gave an authentic feel to the movie, everything just seems real. This instalment sees Tom Cruise and what's remaining of the IMF (Impossible Missions Force) to take down the Syndicate, a team of rogue assassins who are designed to do what the IMF does, kill anyone who gets in their way. Full of action that will keep your adrenaline going, I think this is the movie of the summer and I highly recommend everyone to watch it!

2: Fast and Furious 7
The seventh instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise is an emotional one, due to the death of Paul Walker, this movie's production was halted for months so the cast can pay their tribute to a legendary actor that has done a major role into bringing the F&F franchise into what it is today. But after months of waiting, this movie was finally released in April this year. The wait was worth it, with lots of action and an emotional story. This time the team is getting targeted by Deckard Shaw, the brother of Owen Shaw, who the team took down in the last film. Basically this movie is about Deckard seeking revenge for the death of his brother, and what a rollercoaster ride it was. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to see a perfect sendoff to a late actor

1: Need For Speed
Finally my favourite movie of all time is Need For Speed. A movie based on the racing franchise produced by Electronic Arts, this movie sets out to tell the story of Tobey Marshall, a blue collar mechanic who owns his own racing shop called Marshall Motors. What I like about this film is that all the racing scenes are purely authentic, no CGI used here. That's what I like most about this film, the fact that all the racing is real and at some points the camera even switches to first-person mode so the audience could get a feel of driving behind the wheel. Another film based on the concept of revenge, I highly recommend this film to any car enthusiast like me, because the film features exotic supercars that I couldn't take my eyes off.

And there you go guys, my top 5 favourite films. You could probably notice a pattern that most of the movies on this list has to do with racing, and I admit I mostly like racing films, that's just my preference. I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and I'll see you in the next one. Adios!

  1. I enjoyed reading this, Kelvin. Very thoughtfully written. It's funny, as I was driving into school this morning I was actually thinking of 'must see' films. That was cos I was listening to The Blues Brothers. Have you seen that movie?
